We recommend the Versablade 680-FCA for vertical adhesive application. This 2-piece trowel with replaceable blades has an ergonomic handle and the 1/16″ square notch blade spreads exactly the right amount of adhesive.
It is very common to see too much or too little adhesive applied when installing cork on a vertical surface. The 1/16 trowel will add just enough so that once embedded in the wet adhesive and pulled up for inspection, all the furrows or track lines of adhesive will be fully crushed and show full coverage on the back of the cork’s fabric backing.
This adhesive allows for some repositioning if necessary which is not easy or even possible with some other adhesives like contact cement.
